Accreditation and Affiliations

The Grifols Academy was granted accreditation for a period of five years through the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). The Grifols Academy voluntarily sought this accreditation status as a means of demonstrating the organization's commitment to employee development and training. This highly sought-after accreditation brings national recognition to the Grifols Academy programs in the specialty field of human plasma science and provides continuing education credits to all participants for successful completions.

The Grifols Academy of Plasmapheresis has entered into an articulation process with the University of Phoenix (UoP). Participants who have completed Academy courses and are enrolled at the University of Phoenix are eligible to have those courses converted to credit through the Prior Learning Assessment process (PLA). This is a wonderful opportunity for our associates currently enrolled as well as those planning future attendance at the UoP.

In addition, the Grifols Academy of Plasmapheresis has a new partnership with the Southern New Hampshire University that encourages Grifols employees to pursue their college aspirations. Designed for working adults, this competency-based degree program will allow the students to progress at their own pace to complete a Company-sponsored Associate or Bachelor Degree program.

In a special partnership with the State of California Board of Registered Nurses, the Grifols Academy is licensed to grant continuing education hours to nurses that attend the medical courses. These hours can be generally applied toward Continuing Education Credit required for licensure renewal.

To develop the technical skills of our employees and to develop internal trainers for these courses, the Grifols Academy offers autopheresis machine repair courses developed by Haemonetics. In these courses, students learn how to perform necessary repairs and parts replacements along with calibration and diagnostics of the PCS2 equipment.

The Grifols Academy also offers Aurora Repair training developed by Fenwal. Through this program, Grifols employees learn how to calibrate the Aurora machines, as well as diagnose, make repairs, and replace parts on the machines.

The Grifols Academy promotes the certification of Grifols employees through the American Society of Quality (ASQ) by hosting certificate preparation courses to varying fields of employment. These intensive, hands-on courses provide the educational framework that Grifols employees need to obtain the prestigious certifications as a Quality Improvement Associate or Certified Manager of Quality and Operational Excellence.
